Restart Plan

A. Training for students regarding COVID-19 sanitization and social distancing practices and protocols as a condition of resuming in-person classes;

Training for students will be conducted, beginning on first initiation of in person training, using CDC approved material and guidelines in regards to COVID-19 Sanitation and social distancing practices.

B. Training for faculty and staff on appropriate sanitization and social distancing practices and protocols, as well as institutional policies and procedures developed to limit the spread of COVID-19;

Training for faculty and staff will be conducted, prior to initiation of in person training, using CDC approved material and guidelines in regards to COVID-19 Sanitation and social distancing practices, this restart plan, and any policies developed by this institution for COVID-19 purposes.

C. Use of face coverings for faculty, staff, students, and visitors, except when doing so would inhibit the individual’s health;

New face masks will be provided to all staff and students, on a daily basis.

D. Frequent cleaning and sanitization of classrooms, residences, restrooms, high-touch areas and equipment and shared surfaces;

Classroom/lab and adjacent bathroom area will be sanitized and cleansed on a daily basis every AM, including high-touch areas and equipment and shared surfaces.

E. Maintenance of adequate supplies, such as personal protective equipment and cleaning supplies;

Supply inventory will be checked on a daily basis to ensure maintenance of adequate supplies, cleaning equipment, and PPE.

F. Installation of hand sanitizing stations with 60 percent or more alcohol content at all building entry points and throughout the school;

Hand sanitizing station with 60 percent or more alcohol content will be located outside the entrance to the classroom and near bathroom wall.

G. The option of remote instruction for faculty and students who are unable to participate in in-person instruction;

If needed on an emergency basis, special accommodations will be made to allow temporary remote instruction for students unable to participate in person, via virtual format such as Zoom meeting, Webex ex meeting, etc.

H. Performance of health screenings for faculty, staff, students and visitors, and education regarding self-monitoring for symptoms;

A log will be created to document daily temperatures that will be taken by staff upon entry to the classroom, along with documentation of daily symptom self-monitoring.

I. Social distancing in classrooms, workstations, laboratories, clinical settings, and student seating areas throughout the training school and a plan for providing smaller class sizes if feasible;

Social distancing will be maintained in the classroom by arranging seating at least 6 feet apart from each other. Clinical skills/training will be performed in the training area one on one with student and instructor (maintaining 6 ft. distance from each other), wearing appropriate face coverings and gloves when touching high use surfaces/equipment. All skills will be performed on mannequin, which will be wiped with disinfecting cloth in between student use, along with any equipment used. Class size will be limited to 10 -15 students per training.

J. Plan for staggering start, break, and end times of class periods, or alternating scheduled class days to reduce crowding at the training school and classroom entryways;

Students will be instructed on staggering entrance/ exit at entryway. Each student will be instructed to walk in/ out individually six ft. apart from person in front of them, and taking their designated seat. Bathroom use will be limited to one individual at a time.

K. Commitment to working with local and State officials, including the local health department and local office of emergency management, to share the components of the restart plan and revise same as may become necessary;

L. Establishment of COVID-19 testing guidance and contact tracing protocols developed in consultation with local health officials and in line with existing State and federal health privacy statutes and regulations. At a minimum, such protocols should include a mechanism to maintain a log of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to facilitate contact tracing, and the reporting of any instances of COVID-19 to local health officials.

Any individual displaying symptoms or positive for COVID will not be allowed to attend in person training. A log will be kept with a daily student signature asking if any symptoms are present, and certifying that the individual is not experiencing any symptoms, has not had recent contact with anyone known positive, and is not known positive for COVID 19. If individual had contact or is symptomatic, they will be asked to get tested and have a negative result along with being symptom free before returning for class. Accommodations will be made to provide for remote training until able to return for class, and clinical testing will be performed at a later date when COVID issues have resolved.

A log of student and staff contact information will be kept and maintained for contact tracing purposes. Any instances of COVID-19 will be reported to local health Officials as soon as possible.

8/2021- At the discretion of the Program Coordinator, training course can be given through remote/ virtual classes (ZOOM meeting, etc.) until further notice. All Clinical/Laboratory Hours will be instituted at training program address site. Rev 8-2021

The above policies and procedures will be posted on the training school’s website and provided to students and staff in advance of the anticipated date for implementation.
